Organizer Description
Cayla Nicole Cross takes pride in being Bermuda’s former number one female tennis player and remains amongst the top-ranked players on the island. Being the daughter of a talented national coach, the late- great Howard Cross, she had the amazing opportunity to develop her skills at such a young age. It was through this challenging, skillful sport that she was able to pursue further education at her chosen University in North Carolina. After first being denied entry due to SAT scores, she persevered and received a tennis scholarship that immediately prompted the admissions office to reverse their decision and grant her permission to attend. Cayla studied diligently and went on to become a full-time accountant, leaving her passion of coaching to only weekends and evenings. It wasn’t until June 2021 when she decided to resign her accountant position to pursue her passions fully. Now, as the mother of a sweet toddler and a beautiful 5 month old, she is determined and focused to carry on her Father’s legacy, which continues to touch the lives of any and everyone who participates.
